Jason's World

There has been a ton of things happening in today’s society. There is political turmoil amongst nations, as well as, natural disasters that are hitting extremely poor countries. These are the times in which over and over in my mind and I’m sure in yours as well that the question arises “Why?”
I know I ask ’why?’ several times a day about various things that are happening. Yet, through it all we are told to turn consistently to Jesus. The only person that we can turn to is Him. We must trust that through it all, Christ is the one that will not fail us.
In Matthew 14, there are three verses that many times are overlooked. It’s starts with verse 35, which follows the account of Jesus walking on the water.

“When the people recognized Jesus, the news of his arrival spread quickly throughout the whole area, and soon people were bringing all their sick to be healed. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.”

The importance of these verses is that people recognized Jesus and placed their trust in Him. This was a trust that led to the ultimate showing of their faith in Him; that when they touched his garment, even the fringe of the garment, they were healed.
Do we have enough trust in Christ that when we see the bad things happening, we reach out to touch the fringe of His power so that He may heal us? Do we have the trust in our Lord that when the going gets tough, we can look upon our Lord and allow Him to be fully in control? When we trust in the Lord with all of who we are, we are allowing our FAITH to show through.

Father, we pray that through all the times that we are going through, that we can have enough trust in you. Enough trust for us to reach out to you and to allow your power to heal us no matter what the circumstances are that follows. We come to you reaching for the fringe of your robe that we might touch it and, in doing so, be allowed to be healed of our ailments. Ailments that may not be a sickness physically but ones that effects us more than we might ever know. We praise you for being the God that you are and for allowing us to have examples of the trust that we should be able to have in You.
In your Son’s name,
Amen.
